Privacy Policy

We will grow to the next level through systematic and

The Korean Society for Turfgrass Science (hereinafter referred to as “the Society”) highly values the protection of your personal information and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act. Through this Privacy Policy, the Society informs you of the purposes and methods for which your personal information is used, as well as the measures taken to protect it.

1. Categories of Personal Information Collected and Processed

The Society collects only the minimum personal information necessary for lectures, journal publication, and academic exchange in all fields related to turfgrass. Optional items may be left blank without restricting access to basic services.

2. Purpose of Processing Personal Information

The Society uses the personal information it collects for the following purposes. All information provided by users will not be used for any purpose other than those described below, and prior consent will be obtained if the purpose of use is changed.

  • Academic lectures, academic exchange, and publication of journals and books

3. Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information

When the purpose of collecting or receiving personal information has been fulfilled, your personal information will be destroyed without delay.

  • In the event of membership withdrawal or a request for deletion of personal information, such information shall be immediately destroyed in a manner that makes it irrecoverable.

(Reference) Personal information collected for the purpose of academic research may be retained for the period specified at the time of collection. If a longer retention period is deemed necessary, it shall be reasonably determined and established, and must be justifiable in the event of a subsequent dispute (refer to Annex 1 of the Standard Personal Information Protection Guidelines, “Criteria for Determining the Retention Period of Personal Information Files”).

4. Matters Concerning the Destruction of Personal Information

The Society shall promptly destroy the relevant personal information once the purpose of processing has been achieved or the processing and retention period has expired.

  • Personal information stored in electronic file form shall be deleted using technical methods that prevent the records from being restored.
  • Personal information printed on paper shall be destroyed by shredding or incineration.

5. Rights of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives and Methods of Exercising Such Rights

When collecting personal information or processing membership registration for children under the age of 14, the Society obtains consent from their legal representatives. In order to obtain such consent, the Society collects only the minimum necessary information from the child, such as the name and contact information of the legal representative.

A legal representative of a child may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the child’s personal information.

6. Matters Concerning the Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Society does not provide your personal information to third parties except with your consent or as required by applicable laws and regulations.

7. Matters Concerning the Entrustment of Personal Information Processing

If the Society entrusts personal information processing for service provision as described below, it stipulates necessary matters in the entrustment agreement to ensure that personal information is safely managed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. (Currently, none.)

8. Matters Concerning the Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Methods of Exercising Them

You may withdraw your consent to the collection, use, and provision of personal information for membership registration and academic research at any time. You may request access to, correction of, suspension of processing of, or deletion of your personal information. If you contact the Personal Information Protection Officer in writing, by telephone, or by fax, the Society will take the necessary measures without delay. However, the exercise of such rights may be restricted if required by law.

10. Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

All information provided by users is securely managed through security systems such as firewalls. In addition, as an administrative measure to protect users’ personal information, the Society grants differentiated access rights to personal information and limits the number of personnel handling such information to the minimum necessary, while providing continuous security training. Furthermore, the Society designates authorized users of the personal information processing system and retains access logs.

11. Matters Concerning Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was established on April 1, 2012. In the event of additions, deletions, or modifications due to changes in laws, policies, or security technologies, the Society will provide notice of the reasons for and details of such changes on its website at least seven (7) days prior to the implementation of the revised Privacy Policy.
